Sunday nights at El Cid present an all new creative collaboration between this city's top flamenco musicians and the dancers of Almardiente Flamenco. With an emphasis on musical expression and collaborative improvisation, "Ritmo Flamenco" might give birth to a wide range of moods on any given night! Almardiente Flamenco
Almardiente is a Flamenco dance company comprised of seven fiery, sensuous and talented young women. Alma meaning soul, and Ardiente meaning ardent or fiery, Almardiente puts on a show that is not to be missed.Performing with some of the most talented and respected Flamenco singers and musicians around, Almardiente presents an exciting and beautiful performance of Flamenco song and dance that offers both traditional and modern styles of Flamenco. Drawing from a vast repertoire that includes bulerias, tientos, alegrias, sevillanas,guajira, solea por bulerias, tangos, rumbas, and fandangos, this show is unlike any other.
Since it’s inception in 2002, Almardiente has performed at such renowned venues as the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Ford Amphitheater and the Hollywood Bowl. Their talent has also taken them around the world with performances in Spain, Mexico, Paris and the Philippines. We are thrilled to present Almardiente for your enjoyment at El Cid.
